Immediately, everyone stood up and cameras started flashing. Comics legend Stan Lee entered the room . Lee immediately embraced author Perry Moore . In the high-spirited banter that followed, the two revealed they were collaborating on a project based on Moore's novel Hero , about a gay teen superhero. Lee and Moore danced around the specifics of exactly what form their project would take, but in May, New York Magazine's Vulture blog reported that Moore's novel was coming to television .

Moore said later in an interview with KPBS videographer Erica Simpson that he hopes to see it on the screen within a year.
