What Is The Cost For Amazon's Convenience? FRONTLINE examines Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' ascent to power and the global impact of the empire he built. The film also investigates the darker side of the company's rapid growth, and the challenge of trying to rein in the power of the richest man in the world. From award-winning filmmakers James Jacoby and Anya Bourg ("The Facebook Dilemma," "War On The EPA," "Policing The Police"), FRONTLINE “Amazon Empire: The Rise Of Jeff Bezos” draws on interviews with current top executives, former insiders, as well as regulators and critics, raising critical questions about Bezos and the empire he built.
“Everything that is admirable about Amazon is also something that we should fear about it,” Atlantic staff writer Frank Foer tells FRONTLINE. “Amazon is not just an inescapable fact in the life of the American consumer…But it’s an inescapable fact in the life of every single corporation in this country.”
