Gunmen have ambushed municipal police again in Tijuana.
Law enforcement authorities say two police officers died when a group of men shot at them with high powered weapons near a swap meet in the city's La Mesa neighborhood.
Five more officers were injured in the attack and rushed to the Red Cross. One has since died, bringing the total number of police casualties to three.
This is the latest in a series of attacks on municipal police in Tijuana by suspected members of organized crime.
Gunmen in previous attacks have left notes at the scene threatening to kill more police until Tijuana's Director of Public Security, Julian Leyzaola, resigns.
Leyzaola has responded with his own series of threats, saying he will not step down and that anyone who attacks police will suffer his wrath.
More than 20 municipal police have been killed so far this year.
