What Should CA Do to Achieve Full Global Potential?

What Should CA Do to Achieve Full Global Potential?
What does California need to do to meet its full, global potential? We speak to Dr. Abraham Lowenthal about his new book Global California: Rising to the Cosmopolitan Challenge. Dr. Lowenthal talks about what the state can do to promote itself internationally, and how the state can benefit from the growing global economy.

Alison St. John: California, the Golden State, with an economy that is bigger than all but about half a dozen countries in the world. At the moment it's a state that has been called "ungovernable," and stories of the massive budget deficits raise alarming specters for its future

But our guest, Dr Abraham Lowenthal, argues that we, as a mega state, need to get more ambitious in our thinking: take the reins on international trade, use our cosmopolitan qualities, forget waiting for Washington to define international relations, we can change our mindset and start to think globally.
