A Father and Son Write Memoirs about Meth Addiction
Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction is renowned journalist David Sheff's harrowing struggle to help his son Nic overcome his meth addiction. David's son, Nic, has his own memoir for younger readers, Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines, which chronicles his addiction, multiple relapses, and finally his road to recovery. David and Nic Sheff join us to talk about their experiences.

Doug Myrland (Guest Host): Beautiful Boy is the name of a book written by a man who saw his son become a slave to methamphetamine. The book tells the harrowing story of how the addiction of the son afflicts the lives of the parents. The author of is journalist David Sheff. His son, Nic, eventually became sober. And like his father, Nic also wrote a book about the experience of addition from his vantage point. That book is titled Tweaker.

Last fall, Tom Fudge talked with David and Nic Sheff about what it was like to live through drug addiction.
