San Diego County officials are investigating charges of patient mistreatment at two local community clinics. One patient accused a staff member of pressuring him to have sex.
Two of the charges were made against Family Health Centers. That's a network of clinics that treats more than 100,000 patients a year.
A homeless man said a case manager invited him to stay at his home, then pressured him to have sex.
Another patient alleges staff mistreated him when he tried to use a bathroom.
Fran Butler Cohen, CEO of Family Health Centers, says she can't comment on the charges.
"No matter how misguided or inaccurate the details that might be presented to the press," Cohen says, "we are unable to give specific details and even defend ourselves."
EDITOR'S NOTE: An earlier version of this story stated that the San Ysidro Health Center is also under investigation. However, the County would neither confirm nor deny whether that is the case.
