The head of the British Army is stepping back from comments he made to a British newspaper criticizing Prime Minister Tony Blair's policy in Iraq.
Gen. Sir Richard Dannatt was quoted as saying that Blair's policy was a "naive" failure, and that British troops "exacerbate security problems" and should leave Iraq soon.
