The Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade combat team has wrapped up its final training in Germany before deploying to Afghanistan for a year. Troops spent last week fighting pretend insurgents and helping pretend villagers in the hills of Bavaria.
The extras playing the villagers were Arabic speakers — including Iraqis — brought in to create more realism for the soldiers. But due to a change in orders, the Americans are headed for Afghanistan.
