U.S. Troops Weigh In on Surge Impact

Next week, Gen. David Petraeus releases his report assessing the progress of the war in Iraq since the beginning of the U.S. military troop surge.

We have been asking a variety of people if they think Iraq is better off since the U.S. troop surge started.

Today we hear what some U.S. troops think.

John Burnett is a national correspondent based in Austin, Texas, who has been assigned a new beat for 2022—Polarized America—to explore all facets of our politically and culturally divided nation.
