Hill's Goal: End N. Korea's Nuclear Program

Ambassador Christopher Hill, lead U.S. negotiator on the dismantlement of North Korea's nuclear arms program, is headed to Beijing this week for talks that will also include Russia, China, Japan, and South Korea.

As Hill tells NPR's Melissa Block, his immediate focus is getting North Korea's Yongbyon nuclear reactor disabled for "many months...maybe a year." He also intends to push for a complete declaration of North Korea's nuclear programs.
