There's a town that bears Barack Obama's name even before this presidential campaign: Obama, Japan. Obama means little beach in Japanese.
Last year, the mayor of Obama sent the senator a letter, a DVD, a guidebook and some lacquerware chopsticks. So far, no response from the candidate. After all, there are probably no superdelegates in Obama, Japan. The mayor says he intends to send another gift, a lacquerware good-luck bell with victory written across its chest.
By the way, there is a Port Clinton, Australia, and the town Web site says that its small general store stocks bait, ice, fuel and gas, all of which would be difficult to send as a good-luck gift to Senator Clinton. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
