U.S. Seen Pausing Iraq Force Reduction

Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, and U.S. Ambassador to Baghdad Ryan Crocker are scheduled to testify before two Senate panels on Tuesday on the military and political situation in Iraq.

Petraeus is expected to announce plans to reduce U.S. forces in Iraq this summer, but delay further reductions until fall to make sure security improvements can be maintained.
