Timeline: The U.S. And The War In Iraq

The withdrawal of the last U.S. troops from Iraq in December 2011 ends a nearly nine-year conflict that saw the ouster of dictator Saddam Hussein and the death of more than 4,000 U.S. troops. Iraq now has an elected government and violence is down, but it still faces an uncertain future.
