As the March 3 California primary nears, San Diego County Registrar of Voters Registrar of Voters Michael Vu wants the public to know about the voting process.

March 3 is California's presidential primary. San Diego County Registrar of Voters Michael Vu wants the public to know about the voting process.

The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, Feb. 18 by midnight. Feb. 25 is the last day registered voters can request a mail ballot.

Under conditional registration in California, voters are able to register and vote on election day at any polling place in the state. However, some polling places experienced long lines on election day in 2018, including in San Diego. Vu is encouraging people to register early in order to avoid those lines.
