Since 2014, "Incoming" has been telling stories about the men and women of America’s military, told in their own words, straight from their own mouths.
The KPBS series is now out with its fifth season and it features five outspoken members of the veteran community, including comedians, authors and satirists.
"The five episodes we're releasing is lining right up at the end of the primary and the general election and I don't think now is the time for middle of the road storytelling. It just doesn't fit with the chaos of our times. So we thought we'd match it blow for blow with some of the more loud-mouthed veterans who are out there who really are not suffering from a lack of candor," said Justin Hudnall, host of "Incoming."
The season opens with the story of Allison Gill, a San Diego-based musician, comedian, and Navy veteran, who has used comedy to heal the trauma she experienced while serving in the military.
