Marine Corps Celebrates 235th Birthday This Week in Grand Tradition

The Marines are about to celebrate their 235th birthday at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region, the place "where Marines are made," with a cake cutting ceremony and uniform pageant on Wednesday. The ceremony, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will include the traditional cake cutting ceremony, the recognition of the oldest and youngest Marine present to symbolize the continuance of the Corps, and a historical uniform pageant to showcase the evolution of the Corps while honoring Marines of the past.
