President Obama has attracted a lot of criticism as of late because of our military's involvement enforcing Libya's no-fly zone - from Democrats as far left as Dennis Kucinich, to Republican House Speaker John Boehner. And the poetic Sarah Palin, too. But politics make strange bedfellows, as the saying goes, and it turns out that East San Diego County Rep. Duncan Hunter has Obama's back when it comes to Libya. Or at least based on an op-ed he wrote for the San Diego Union-Tribune:
Rep. Hunter's public support of the president was so surprising in this era of bipartisan wrangling that the story made national headlines in USA Today. According to the paper, Hunter's backing holds a bit of gravitas, considering he's a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
President Obama speaks tonight at 4:30 p.m. PDT.
