GOP Group Wants Don't Ask Don't Tell Declared Unconstitutional (Video)

The Log Cabin Republicans are calling on a federal appeals court to declare "don't ask, don't tell" unconstitutional. The controversial Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments today on the almost 18-year-old DADT policy that banned gays and lesbians from openly serving in the military.

On the other side of the argument is the Obama administration. The Justice Department is arguing that the federal appeals court needs to a lower court ruling declaring DADT unconstitutional, according to Reuters. Justice Department attorneys say the law President Obama signed last year repealing the law should be enough.

But Log Cabin Republicans attorney Dan Woods explained to the Associated Press why his group is pushing for the law to be declared unconstitutional:

GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has indicated she would reinstate don't ask, don't tell if elected president. (See video below, courtesy of CNN and YouTube.)
