The USS Boxer cruised into Pearl Harbor this week en route to its final destination of San Diego. But one Sailor arrived home early - and surprised his little girl in her classroom atVista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts.
The North County Times was there when Navy E-3 Airman Miguel Melendres Jr. showed up to surprise his daughter, second-grader Ashley. Melendres has been away from home for seven months.
Ashley told the newspaper:
