The Carrier Classic went off without a hitch on Veterans Day, with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels besting the Michigan State Spartans on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. It was the first time a college basketball game was played on a live aircraft carrier.
And, apparently, it won’t be the last. The Associated Press reported recently that UConn has been selected to play in the second Carrier Classic, which will take place on Veterans Day 2012 in San Diego. No word yet about which aircraft carrier will host the game (read more).
