Active-duty Marine and San Clemente resident Kyle Joseph Mason was killed over the weekend in a Solana Beach motorcycle accident. The 23-year-old Mason was riding his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle Friday evening at a rate of 75 miles per hour on southbound I-5 when he crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer, according to Fox 5.
The North County Times reports the impact threw Mason from his motorcycle. He suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he died shortly after arrival.
