Camp Pendleton Sergeant Killed in Afghanistan

Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. William Stacey, 23, was killed January 31st in Helmand province, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense. From Redding, California, Stacey was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton.

Sgt. Stacey commanded the squad in which Australian war correspondent Lawrence Dabney was embedded in Afghanistan. Dabney wrote about Sgt. Stacey last November for a website called The Faster Times:
