An online petition to reinstate military Tuition Assistance programs - halted due to sequestration cuts - has garnered more than 100,000 signatures. That magic number means the White House must now respond to the petition.

The petition calls on President Obama to reinstate military Tuition Assistance programs...

"...and block the Armed Service Branches from any further suspension of Tuition Assistance. This action should be accomplished by Executive Order as Commander in Chief."

As Home Post has previously reported, the Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard have all halted new enrollments for their Tuition Assistance programs.

The Navy has not yet made a decision about whether to continue enrollment in its TA program, according to the Military Times.
