The Marine Corps has announced that as of April 8, funding for its Tuition Assistance program has been restored for the remainder of fiscal year 2013, and new enrollments in the program can start immediately.
Through Tuition Assistance, Marines can receive $250 per semester hour and $4,500 annually to further their education.
In March, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus suspended enrollment in the program as an immediate consequence of sequestration cuts.
According to officials from the Marine and Family Programs Division...
Marines with questions should contact their Education Service Officer, who can provide individualized academic advisement and inform Marines about the full breadth of tuition funding sources and how they can take advantage of their degree plans.
Tuition Assistance programs for the Air Force, Army, and Coast Guard that were suspended due to sequestration cuts have all been restored as of last week.
