Marines with Camp Pendleton's Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment are gearing up for their upcoming deployment to the Middle East — where their mission will be to provide embassy security.
Delta Company platoon commander, 1st Lt. Joseph Guerrero, explained to 1st Marine Division public affairs that part of preparing his troops involves recreating security issues they may face overseas:
“Setting up barriers is a necessary step in maintaining site security. It is our objective to make it as difficult as possible for enemy forces to get into our compound.”
As Home Post reported previously, about 100 troops with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines deployed on Sept. 14 to provide security for an unnamed embassy in the Middle East.
Delta Company squad leader, Sgt. Bryan Boyles, talks about how crucial site security training is, in the video posted up top.
