Lawmakers around the nation are considering how to prevent kids from getting high from over-the-counter cough medicines.
Children are deliberately overdosing on products containing Dextromethorphan, or DXM, and are increasingly ending up in the emergency room.
Some states want to ban sales of DXM products to minors; others want to go further and move DXM products behind the counter despite objections from the drugs manufacturers.
