New Aircraft Aiding Search for Missing Adventurer

Millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett went missing Monday, and the search for him now involves flight crews from three states.

He took off alone in a single-engine plane from a friend's ranch in Nevada on Monday and never returned. He was taking a short flight to scout a dry lake bed where he could try to break the land-speed record.

Aircraft from the Nevada Air National Guard, Naval Air Station Fallon, the California Highway Patrol and the Civil Air Patrol in Nevada and Utah are taking part in the search.

Crews have brought in a new aircraft from Utah to help. It's called an Air Van, and it has a special imaging system.
