Maureen Cavanaugh: The turnout in California for last November's presidential election was the highest in 35 years. We were all moved by stories of people who came back as voters or who cast their first ballots ever in that historic election.
But, tomorrow's special election is expected to be very different. Unless projections are wrong, people who decide to do their civic duty should find no lines at polling places and it may not take very long at all to count the number of ballots.
For most of this hour we'll talk about what's at stake in this special election, what the outcome may mean for education, firefighting, and for Governor Schwarzenegger. And we'll be asking for you to share your thoughts and concerns about tomorrow's election.
