County officials today issued a reminder that the registration deadline to vote in the Nov. 6 Presidential General Election is midnight on Oct. 22.
Anyone who is not currently registered, who has recently moved or who has recently changed his or her name needs to register, according to Registrar of Voters Deborah Seiler.
Those who are unsure if they are registered can check it online at sdvote.com, where they can also obtain forms and information.
New instructions for this election will tell a voter whether the California Department of Motor Vehicles can confirm his or her identity and supply a signature. If not, forms need to be printed, signed and mailed to or dropped off at the Registrar of Voters office at 5201 Ruffin Road, Suite I, Seiler said.
Registration forms are also available at the Registrar of Voters office and at U.S. Post Offices, public libraries, city clerk offices and DMV offices.
Election materials are available in Spanish, Filipino, Vietnamese and Chinese as well as English.
Registration forms must be postmarked or delivered to the Registrar of Voters office no later than Oct. 22. The Registrar's office will remain open until midnight the day of the deadline, county officials said.
