Susan Davis Has Lead In Her Bid For 10th Term In Congress

Democrat incumbent Susan Davis has taken an early lead in her bid to return to the House of Representatives.

Davis is gunning for a 10th term as the U.S. representative for the 53rd District which includes much of San Diego and parts of East County.

With 17 percent of the precincts reporting, Davis has 61 percent of the vote.

Republicans Morgan Murtaugh and Matt Mendoza are tied for second with 15 percent of the vote.

Shawn Kane, a Republican, has 4 percent.

The top two vote-getters, regardless of party, go on to the November election.
