Google Glass Explorer Ticketed In San Diego Featured On 'The Daily Show'

Cecilia Abadie probably wasn't thrilled when a California Highway Patrol officer pulled her to the side of a San Diego freeway last year, issuing her the first-ever ticket for driving while wearing Google Glass. But she should've been. A traffic commissioner would later dismiss that citation and Abadie would soon get a much better kind of ticket โ€” a ticket onto The Daily Show.

Last night's episode featured a segment on Google Glass Explorers and the "discrimination" they endure from a society hostile toward face computers. These six people have been kicked out of bars, denied service at cafes, even mugged โ€” all for wearing a device that can surreptitiously record anyone in a user's line of sight.

The Daily Show's Jason Jones pulled no punches skewering his subjects here. But Abadie seems to have a sense of humor about the whole thing. On her Google Plus page, she wrote, "even when they made us look all serious, we were having a great time."
