This is a two-part, four-hour documentary directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and David McMahon that explores the life and work of the 15th century polymath. Set against the rich and dynamic backdrop of Renaissance Italy, the film brings the artist’s towering achievements to life through his prolific personal notebooks, primary and secondary accounts of his life, and on-camera interviews with modern scholars, artists, engineers, inventors, and admirers.

Marino Gomez is a Chicano artist from Sherman Heights in San Diego, California. Starting in 2020, he initially made use of his basic photoshop skills and spare parts of action figures he could find at swapmeets and online. His work utilizes a mix of digital and physical media to create custom art toys, sometimes referred to as bootleg toys. Along with some sculpting, he makes use of a process known as "kitbashing" which involves piecing together new and old action figures to create a new and custom piece. He seeks to introduce the audience to his eclectic work of bootleg toys where he reimagines cultural icons in this debut solo exhibition. Miracle Babies, a nonprofit organization whose mission is dedicated to helping perinatal mothers and their families during their time of need by providing transportation, mental health assistance and supportive services, will be hosting its next diaper distribution on Saturday, June 8th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Mira Mesa High School (10510 Marauder Way, San Diego, CA 92126). Registered guests will be able to attend the free diaper distribution from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then it will open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Over 350 local families are anticipated to attend. Registration is open through Friday June 8th at 12 p.m. or until supplies last. Since the creation of their diaper distributions in 2020, Miracle Babies has supplied over 1.5 million diapers to over 15,000 families in need. To ease the burden of financial stress, diaper drives are for all families, not just families with babies in the NICU. Families in need of products should register online at the Miracles Babies website to ensure availability of diaper sizes. Diaper donations and volunteers are welcome and accepted at all distributions.
