  • “Shooting for the Stars,” a talk by Richard Danne of Danne & Blackburn fame focuses on Richard’s life and illustrious career in brand identity and communication design fostered by his guiding principle: “Create work that has beauty, simplicity, and permanence.” The presentation includes the story behind the rise, fall, and rebirth of the award-winning NASA “worm” logo design, now one of the world’s most recognized design programs. In addition to receiving three U.S. Presidential Awards for Design Excellence and NASA’s Exceptional Public Achievement Medal, the logo, along with its graphic standards manual, was recently placed into the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection.
