  • Gallery reception for "Bird Singers" at City Gallery at San Diego City College. City Gallery is a space for exploring art across all media and genres. The gallery showcases work that reflects the experiences and issues of the world in which we all live today. Located in the heart of City College and downtown San Diego, City Gallery is uniquely situated within San Diego's cultural and civic centre. It provides City College's diverse local student population access to art through innovative exhibitions, community collaborations, workshops and lectures. The gallery engages and inspires the academic population and surrounding San Diego community.   • PEEC is a free program for teens, who are interested in art-making as an enrichment activity that goes beyond making crafts. The aim of the program is to provide a space for youth to create art, share stories, collaborate, explore, and identify new ways to use art in their lives. The Athenaeum offers facilities, resources, guidance, instruction, and support. The open studio program includes a rotation of multidisciplinary art instructors offering workshops in their respective fields, as well as curricular activities that involve the use of the Athenaeum library resources as a starting point for projects. Activities include drawing, painting, research, and introduction to various media. The program is free and teens can register.
