Join sculptor Marty Davis as he teaches the process of creating a bust from photos. Students will learn how to photograph a portrait sitter, and how to use those photos to create an accurate three-dimensional (3D) likeness. Marty will explain and demonstrate the elements of successful portraiture. Topics include the anatomy of the skull and neck, the proportion and placement of the features, and how to generate and refine a convincing likeness. Students will create a single portrait bust of a subject of their choosing over eight weeks. No experience with sculpture necessary. This class is for all skill levels. Materials: Materials will be discussed at the first class. Please note: this course runs for nine sessions total.
