  • In its 18th year, the Borrego Art Institute’s Annual Plein Air Invitational promises another outstanding exhibition of plein air paintings focusing on the unique beauty and environmental significance of the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Borrego Valley. The exhibition will present a rich diversity of plein air paintings by a select group of 14 artists working in oils, watercolor and pastels, all producing work for the show during the week of March 4 – 9. Returning artists include Margaret Larlham, Geoffrey Allen and Natasha Isenhour. New work will go up daily in the main gallery March 4-8, and the gallery hours will be extended to 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. The awards and reception will be held Sat. March 9, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. The show will be up through April 14. The Invitational will once again be curated by Kay Levie, Rick J. Screen Your Gut - Save Your Butt is sponsored by C4, a statewide, all volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to save lives and reduce suffering from colorectal cancer in all Californians. Funds raised from the event will be used to support C4’s grants program.
