The Bonita Glarf Celebration is a free community street fair-style event to celebrate the repair and return of the beloved Bonita Glarf dinosaur statues to their display area on Bonita Road. A one-hour musical narrative will tell the amazing story of the glarfs. It features the Bonita Vista High School show choirs and a talented team of musical theater performers. There will be food, book giveaways, stickers and free copies of the glarf serial story "Tails of Time" autographed by co-author Ella Aldridge. Immerse yourself in the vibrant Mexican traditions of a kermés - a festive celebration filled with exciting games, hands-on activities, lively music, and delicious food. Don’t miss this fun-filled community event for all ages! One rainy night, siblings Sam and Kris are completely consumed by their devices as their father sets up a pillow fort and invites them to play Lotería. His invitation is met with a resounding “NO.” When the internet goes out, Sam and Kris are outraged. Where is their Dad to fix it?! The kids soon discover that the pillow fort is a magical portal to the world of Lotería and their father is trapped inside the game. Sam and Kris set out to bring him back, but Lotería will not let him go so easily. Conceived as an interactive experience, ¡Lotería: Game On! invites the audience to join Sam and Kris as they play to win back their father. This year is the 27th annual Mission Hills Garden Walk with the theme "A Garden Walk through Time." Each year different homeowners' gardens are open to the public. This year there are 12 gardens on the Walk. In many yards there will be musicians performing and watercolor artists painting. The first garden is at Grant TK - 8 school, where there is also a morning performance by the school's band and a Bazaar of San Diego artisans explaining and selling their crafts. Using repurposed and eco-friendly materials, Muschenetz transforms palm frond bark that sheds during San Diego's windy storms into vivid and expressive creatures that enchant kids and adults alike. The devastation of the LA fires impacted so many people, and the recovery path for families with special needs is even more daunting. TERI has learned that over 240 homes burned within L.A.’s special needs community, and as a response, has put together a community event to raise funds for our neighbors up north. On February 1, TERI will host a benefit concert to help support special needs families impacted by the LA fires. Restoring Hope: A Benefit Concert for Special Needs Families will take place at The Bornemann Theatre, located at TERI Campus of Life, and will begin at 3:30 p.m. 100% of proceeds from the benefit concert will support three L.A. Regional Centers working directly with families with kids, adults, and seniors with special needs. Tickets for the concert can be purchased online and are $50 for general admission and $75 for front row seating. TERI Common Grounds Café will be open for lunch, dinner and concessions stands during the concert. The benefit concert will feature unforgettable performances by: Sara Jade Band – Captivating vocals and soulful melodies. [3:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.] Adin Boyer – American Idol and Autism advocate.
