Jessica Plautz
Web ProducerJessica Plautz brought her writing, editing and multimedia skills to KPBS as a newsroom Web Producer. She began at KPBS in 2009 as an Associate Producer, returning to the station in 2011 to work on KPBS Evening Edition, a daily news show bringing San Diego local news and analysis. She received her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her master's in Mass Communication & Media Studies from San Diego State University. Her research includes social media, politics, the intersection of social media and politics, and networked publics. Her previous professional experience includes film, television, theater and print journalism. Jessica has received awards from the San Diego Press Club, the Society of Professional Journalists, Scholars without Borders, the SDSU Women's Association, the Mensa Foundation, and the John F. Reeves Memorial Foundation. She is fluent in Spanish.
