And a lot of residents in poor neighborhoods have had a lot of other things on their minds. So, census organizers have had to get creative.

California is the latest state to sue President Donald Trump over his executive order excluding people in the U.S. illegally from being counted when congressional districts are redrawn. The Pew Research Center says the nation’s most populous state stands to lose a congressional seat if the president’s order stands.

More than 150 local groups are joining forces to urge San Diegans to fill out the 2020 Census. They're focusing on so-called "hard to count" communities, made up primarily of immigrants and refugees, to get them to fill out their Census forms.
