Pension Lawsuit, All American Canal, Newspaper Slant

Audio

Aired 4/19/09

This week, a Superior Court judge dealt a major blow to City Attorney Mike Aguirre’s attempt to recoup $900 million in pension benefits he says were granted illegally. Will Aguirre drop the lawsuit now that it looks like the city only stands to gain $50 million?

Also, Congress voted to move forward with the lining of the All-American Canal. Should Mexico get a share of the Colorado River water that runs through Imperial County?

Plus, a new University of Chicago study found that the political slant of newspapers is guided more by business than politics. What kind of affect does this have on the readers?
