Statewide and Local Propositions Debated

Audio

Aired 4/19/09

This week, the campaigns are in full force for next week’s election. We discuss some of the most hotly contested state and local propositions. Should the state place a $2.60 per pack tax on cigarettes to fund a variety of health programs? Will voters approve a tax on California oil in order to fund alternative energy programs? Will Props. 89 and 90 place important limits on campaign financing, and government powers of eminent domain? Should San Diego voters “help Mayor Sanders reform City Hall” by passing Props. B and C? Will a new airport ever be built at Miramar?
