That's the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution . And it's been a subject of much debate among crime fighters and the pro-gun lobby. The debate stems from the language you just heard. Does the amendment guarantee the rights of individuals to bear arms or only the rights of a state to maintain a militia?

Most courts have concluded that there is no individual right to bear arms. But recently, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear a case that found otherwise. How might the court of conservative Justices Roberts, Alito, Scalia and Thomas come down on the right to bear arms?
