If you've never attended any of the films screening as part of the Comic-Con International Film Festival, then this is a good year to start. The first film on your list should be Chris Brandt's documentary Independents: A Guide for the Creative Spirit , screening Thursday evening at 6:25 in Room 26AB. This film is an entertaining, insightful, and thought-provoking documentary. Brandt assembles an impressive array of people within the comics industry to interview. I spoke with Brandt before he came out to the Con, you can listen to our conversation.
It's too bad this screening overlaps with another documentary film about comics and creativity, Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist (Thursday, 7pm, Room 7AB).
