If you've never attended any of the films screening as part of the Comic-Con International Film Festival, then this is a good year to start. The first film on your list should be Chris Brandt's documentary Independents: A Guide for the Creative Spirit , screening Thursday evening at 6:25 in Room 26AB. This film is an entertaining, insightful, and thought-provoking documentary. Brandt assembles an impressive array of people within the comics industry to interview. It's too bad this screening overlaps with another documentary film about comics and creativity, Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist (Thursday, 7pm, Room 7AB).
