California is sweltering under summer-like temperatures. Record heat is forecast statewide again Monday with the National Weather Service is issuing a severe heat advisory from noon to dusk in the San Francisco Bay area where temperatures could nudge 100 degrees.
In Southern California, temperatures broke records on Sunday.
The 94-degree high in downtown Los Angeles broke a 95-year-old record.
Other records included 100 in Fullerton, 97 degrees in Long Beach, 96 in San Gabriel, Camarillo and Oxnard, 95 in Paso Robles, El Cajon and La Mesa, 94 in Santa Maria and 91 at San Diego's Lindbergh Field.
The heat sent an estimated 75,000 to Zuma Beach in Malibu, Santa Monica and Will Rogers state beaches saw up to 150,000, and Los Angeles County's southern beaches had an estimated 250,000 visitors.
