Antiques Roadshow: Madison, Wis. - Hour Three

Appraiser Alan Fausel reveals that the piece is by famous California painter Thomas Hill, known for his views of Yosemite Valley, and would likely bring an auction value of $60,000 to $80,000.

In Madison, "Antiques Roadshow" visits a one-of-a-kind Wisconsin wonder with appraiser Noel Barrett: The House on the Rock, built on and around a chimney rock and filled to the rafters by its eccentric owner with antiques and collectibles. Highlights include an intricately carved turn-of-the-century Japanese bamboo sculpture; the happy marriage of Edwardian natural pearl earrings elongated with Art Deco pendants; and a massive oil painting by noted 19th-century California painter Thomas Hill, purchased at a church rummage sale for $25 and valued at $60,000 to $80,000.

"Antiques Roadshow" is coming to San Diego and now is the time to apply for tickets and submit pictures of your furniture! You must have a ticket to attend. You can apply for tickets to the San Diego show by visiting

Ticket recipients are selected from all eligible applicants by random drawing. Tickets will not be available at the door. Each ticket holder may bring two objects for appraisal. The deadline for online ticket applications is 11:59pm ET, Monday, April 19, 2010. Postcard ticket applications must be received by Monday, April 19, 2010.

In addition, if you live within 50 miles of San Diego and have a piece of furniture you'd like "Roadshow" to consider, send in your submission! Visit for more information.

If your furniture is selected, "Antiques Roadshow" will notify you by telephone to arrange transportation of your furniture to and from the event and you will also automatically receive a pair of tickets to the event.
