In response to the killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S. forces, Southern California Edison officials say security at U.S. nuclear plants and other utility facilities around the country are increasing security.

Southern California Edison officials say U.S. nuclear plants such as the San Onofre Nuclear Generation Station are among the nation's most secure facilities.

San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station is a nuclear power plant located on the Pacific coast of California. The 84-acre site is in the northwestern corner of San Diego County, and surrounded by the San Onofre State Park and next to the I-5 Highway.

"Southern California Edison has been advised by national security officials to raise the security level at other key utility infrastructure facilities as a precautionary measure," said Alexander.
