SAN DIEGO Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO) is San Diego’s premiere historic preservation group and tonight they will hold their annual “People in Preservation” awards. The Union Tribune wrote about it in the Sunday paper and made a factual error that I took personally.
The newspaper told readers the historic Quartermass-Stensrud home, whose owners have fixed it up at a cost of $250,000, was in the Talmadge neighborhood. I took this personally because the house is in El Cerrito, where I live. You will notice the UT corrected the error in their online version of the story. But the paper edition had it wrong.
The Stensrud house is known throughout my neighborhood by the nickname “The Victorian” and its owners are involved in many neighborhood events, including Halloween kids parade. So if you go looking for it don’t go to Talmadge, or you’ll just tick me off.

Speaks volumes about th U-T's reporting. San Diegans that dont know what neighborhood they are in is a travesty.
