Filner Continues To Lead In San Diego Mayor’s Race

The SurveyUSA poll of likely voters from our media partner 10News shows Democratic Congressman Bob Filner leading over Republican City Councilman Carl DeMaio in the San Diego mayor's race 47 percent to 40 percent with 13 percent of likely voters reporting they’re still undecided.

The gap between the two candidates has narrowed some since an identical SurveyUSA poll three weeks ago. Filner is down three points and DeMaio is up two. DeMaio has also recaptured his lead among male voters, though Filner continues to lead in a majority of demographic categories.

Still, DeMaio is ahead in an important group. Of the 24 percent of voters who said they’ve already cast their ballots by mail, 47 percent said they supported DeMaio, while 42 percent went for Filner. SurveyUSA said those who cast ballots early are seen as the most committed voters.

10News expects to release at least one more poll before Election Day on November 6th.

So we have a survey of LIKELY voters and those who have ACTUALLY voted.

All the chatter by some that Filner has been in the lead was wrong. Very wrong.

DeMaio is winning by 5 points and that is great news for San Diego!

”As I’ve said before, the only poll that counts is the one on Election Day. But I’m encouraged that after three weeks of negative attack ads by DeMaio’s special interest backers, we’re still leading. I think San Diego voters have figured out who’s really behind DeMaio and they want a mayor who will put neighborhoods first, not special interests.” - Bob Filner.

A classic example of the pot calling the kettle black.

Filner's hypocrisy knows no bounds.

10 News is as blatantly pro-DeMaio as Manchester's PRAVDA UT, and even THEY have to admit Filner's ahead.

The Developer Owned UT just published a false poll saying DeMaio is leading. Last night a little old lady in La Jolla came to my office complaining that she had caught a DeMaio supporter destroying her Filner sign in La Jolla, then the man threatened to "ring her little neck". She called the SDPD and they say they get so many sign-stealing reports that they wouldn't even take a report unless she had the man's name and address.

Philosopher3000, that's a pretty bad Halloween story.

Filner's supporters are so desperate they're scraping the bottom of the smear barrel for a "little old lady" and a scary man who wants to "ring her little neck".

It's "wring" not "ring" and you're not fooling anyone.

Philo, let me help you finish your Halloween story:

Suddenly the little old lady realized the call was coming from INSIDE the house! It was no police man, but a zombie who growled "Braaains. Mmm. Braaaaaaains!"

The zombie stumbled towards the old woman until she shrieked "No brains! No brains! Me Filner zombie!"

The zombie looked at her dirty Filner for Mayor shirt and his shoulders slumped. "No brains?" he sadly questioned.

"No brains. But we go bite undecided voters. Eat their brains and turn them into zombies for Filner!" She said with a crooked grin.

Both headed out into the dark and foggy streets to scare undecided voters. Most run in terror, but some carelessly trip and succumb to the Filner zombie horde!

Now that is a scary Halloween story!
