Full Event Information

We're all used to seeing the images of sick and desperate people in the poorest nations of the world. Some of us may be moved to send a donation, many of us will simply be thankful that our lives are better off. Only a few of us see those images and say this must change. Physician and medical anthropologist Paul Farmer is one of those few.

Farmer, and the organization he co-founded, Partners in Health, are known internationally for providing first-world health care to some of the poorest people in the world; and in the process advocating for a concept of world health that goes far beyond a pill or vaccine.

Farmer was the subject "Mountains Beyond Mountains," written by Pulitizer Prize-winning author Tracy Kidder. Farmer has written several books himself including "To Repair the World: Paul Farmer Speaks to the Next Generation."

Farmer is speaking Wednesday night at Point Loma Nazarene University.
