Voices For Children CASA Volunteer Information Session

Nationally, as many as 1 in 3 youth in the foster care system identify as part of the LGBTQIA community. As we celebrate Pride in San Diego, many of the LGBTQIA youth in our foster care locally are still waiting for an advocate. These youth, removed from their home through no fault of their own, need just one caring, consistent adult to help ensure they get all that they need to thrive. Our volunteers spend just 10-15 hours each month on their case – but that dedicated time ensures that the needs of those youth are not overlooked and that they do not feel forgotten.
